Recapturing Lost Revenue for Sellers

OptiPar offers a virtual marketplace for hospitals and healthcare facilities. Any healthcare facility can now become an OptiPar Seller and list their short-dated or even current dated medical supplies and equipment to the OptiPar market. As the expiration date shortens, our proprietary OptiPar algorithm kicks in to maximize the opportunity to sell the product to a potential healthcare buyer. Authorized healthcare buyers have free access to search & shop inventory listed directly from OptiPar suppliers.

The technology enabled service is 100% virtual. Joining OptiPar as a healthcare seller provides you with:

  • a realtime dashboard, detailed reporting and profitability on all your inventory listed with OptiPar
  • the ability to upload an unlimited number of products
  • access to our API to connect your entire inventory management system to OptiPar for unlimited potential.

All OptiPar sellers must be licensed and regulated before becoming an authorized seller on our platform. When a buyer places an order on OptiPar Market, all shipments go directly from the Seller to the healthcare buyer.

Buyers benefit by finding short-dated listings that help improve their institution’s cost containment initiatives. Medical facilities can now become suppliers, giving them a dedicated surplus channel to help move any short-dated stock. Instead of facing the risk of disposing product nearing the end of its shelf- life, the OptiPar technology allows for these products and equipment to match with the immediate needs of healthcare providers wanting to use such products for their original intended purpose – to help patients.

Our Story: Why we did this?

Our story starts in 2018, when co-founder Steve came up with the idea of building an online platform to give healthcare facilities an option to reduce medical waste and unused medical devices and equipment . While working as a Spine Sales representative, he noticed during his surgical cases, the incredible amount of expensive medical devices and equipment that would be ordered but never used. The surgery or procedure would either be cancelled, or the product would just end not being needed. These products (sometimes totaling up to $30K to $50K would get stuffed onto a mobile cart and put into a storage room and many times, these products get forgotten.

Joe the co-founder also spent many years in working with large Medical Device and Medical Equipment manufacturers, was keenly aware of this problem. Furthermore he saw the same thing happening with expensive medical equipment like ultrasound machines, X-ray machines, anesthesia machines, etc… The hospitals would purchase this expensive equipment only to have it used a few times due to lack of demand or lack of interest from the doctors. This equipment can cost anywhere from $100,000 up to several million dollars per hospital. Joe also has a 15 + year software background in ecommerce development, custom software development, and web design. He knew exactly how to build the platform. Chuck our CTO and has built a proprietary engine to run one of the most powerful healthcare marketplaces in the world.

Together, after several years of brainstorming and research in early 2020, OptiPar was born.
